Students to Preach at Week of Prayer

The theme for week of prayer this spring is "Let the Worshippers Arise." It will feature a different student speaker each day.

Student Week of Prayer at Southwestern Adventist University starts Monday, Jan.  30.  Each day a different student will preach, following the theme, “Let the Worshippers Arise.”

“The definition of a worshipper is someone who regards God with great or extravagant respect, honor, or devotion,” says Chaplain Islem Mattay.  “Worshippers are men and women who have hidden God’s Word in their hearts, and as a result, they worship Him.”

Featured speakers will be Angie Boothby, Aaron Brower, Leticia Cortez, Deivi Garcia, Devon Grady, Olga Vaiangina and Matthew Agee.  Keep these students in your prayers this week as they prepare to share God’s message.

Due to week of prayer, there will be a slightly altered schedule during Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes.  Period one will start at 7:30 and go until 8:10, period two will be from 8:20 to 9:00, period three will be from 9:10 to 9:50, period four starts at 10:00 and then goes to 10:40. The week of prayer chapel will take place from 10:45 to 11:30 in the Keene Church Sanctuary.  Schedule will return to normal after the service. Tuesday and Thursday classes will be at the normal time, and week of prayer will begin at 1 p.m. on those days.
