Spirit Week To Bring Students Together

Spirit Week To Bring Students Together

Enny Velasquez, freshmen music major, shows school spirit during pajama day at Southwestern Adventist University.

It’s Spirit Week at Southwestern Adventist University, giving students and faculty the opportunity to show school spirit through crazy clothing.

Today was pajama day. Students everywhere rolled into class with their bedtime attire and messy hair.

The theme for tomorrow is “Twinsies on Tuesday.” Then it’s “Save the World Wednesday,” otherwise known as superhero day. Thursday is “Nerd Day.” Friday is “Southwestern SWAG,” a time to wear Southwestern active gear. The active gear is available for purchase at the University Student Center.

“I think spirit week is good for students because it enhances our school spirit,” says Indiana Melendez, sophomore communications major and Mizpah editor. “It gets students involved and it’s fun. Also, it brings us together because we all look silly together.”

Those who dress up for spirit week are invited to the Student Association building from 3 to 5 p.m. each day to have their picture taken.
