A & P Students Learn Creatively (Video)
Students that study anatomy and physiology had the chance to earn extra credit by memorizing muscles in creative ways.
Dr. Amy McHenry, assistant professor of biology, has assigned the extra credit project to her students. They had to find a creative way to memorize muscles, and then present their project to the class.
Many students found their creative learning outlet through song. Students Edwin Arevalo, Gentille Sandy, Giovanne Pierre and Lydia Davila created the bone song.
Another group, Hayden Scott, Brenna Sanchez and Ryan de la Garza, made this video about muscles.
Other projects include a skeleton gingerbread, made by Breanne Gleason and Ben Cheever, and a bones of the forearm model, made by Natalia Angulo. Previous years included a remix of the Hokey-Pokey, some gymnastics, and even a story in rhyme, among other things.
Needless to say, each group was rewarded the well-earned extra credit.
