Southwestern Singers Tour New Mexico
The Southwestern Singers will be on tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico this weekend. They will perform three times at three different locations with guest soloist Javier Gonzalez and accompanist John Boyd.
One performance will be for the Society of Adventist Communicators annual meeting, held at Hotel Albuquerque. The Southwestern Singers will also provide the worship service at Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church. Their last performance will be an evening concert at Igesia De Rio Grande.
“We are fortunate that we can use our talents to help fulfill the Great Commission by spreading the gospel through music,” says Jonathan Wall, director. “We are also blessed to represent Southwestern Adventist University. We look forward to touring and the concerts that we are able to perform. They provide us with opportunities to grow musically and spiritually in addition to developing meaningful lifelong friendships.”
Gonzalez, the guest soloist, is a tenor who has had the opportunity to sing around the world. He’s currently completing his masters in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting at the University of New Mexico.
Last year he was part of the premier cast for the opera “Oh My Son” by Marcos Galvany. It premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York.
“We are thrilled that he will be part of our musical presentations over the weekend in New Mexico,” says Wall.
