ExpressHim Ministry
(Edited by Bj Mondesir and Angela Mangueira)
What is ExpressHim? ExpressHim is the drama ministry on campus that uses their talent of acting, singing, and their love for God to get a moralistic message out through the many skits and series they produce. ExpressHim is now going into their second year of being an official club and it seems to be growing into a beautiful opportunity for those on campus who want to put their talents to this specific skill set.
Express Him was founded by Laura Grossel last year. Her ultimate desire was to be able to have a drama club on campus. She started it by simply asking a few students to participate in a skit. That group then decided to keep acting together. As a result, more students are joining and it turned into a wonderful opportunity for ministry.
When thinking about the name for this particular club, many ideas were tossed around and none of them seemed to fit. The group took a step back and asked themselves why exactly they were doing this ministry to begin with. They found that one of the most important aspects of ministry is to tell the word of God, to share what He has said. This is how the name came to be. ExpressHim.
“I found a wonderful opportunity to express myself as well as putting out God’s word through such a unique way of sharing the gospel,” says Grossel.”ExpressHim showed me that you don’t have to be behind a pulpit to share His word. ExpressHim members are awesomely talented and dedicated people and the club is always looking for new people to join.”
ExpressHim director Laura Grossel is the person to contact for those are interested in joining this club to spread God’s word. Students who are interested in acting, singing, helping with props, enjoy being on stage or even just sharing God’s word should talk to Laura. ExpressHim’s main focus is to keep the attention pointing towards Christ while trying to apply His word to us as young Christians.
