Events Welcome Students to Campus
It’s another school year for Southwestern, and students are milling onto campus ready to begin the semester and experience a fantastic school year. To start the semester right, the school created two events that allow for old students to meet new ones.
Today featured the first assembly of the year, and SWAU offered a Fist Bump/Handshake event where new and old students mingled together organized by classes and greeted each other. A great way for students to familiarize themselves with the student body and make Southwestern theirs for the year, the event started at 12:45 in the gymnasium, and lasted for a little over an hour, giving students enough time to familiarize themselves with the faces of their peers.
Tonight the Student Association has planned an event to give the students more interaction time on a mass level. A glow-in-the-dark Capture-the-Flag event is scheduled, starting at 8:30 at the Rotunda. The fun event will allow students to become more familiar with their campus and the people that share it. Nicole Cillo, SA secretary, encourages students to come out and enjoy the event with these words: “A new voyage doesn’t start in seeking new land, but in seeking new eyes.”
