The Rusty Bucket Is Now the Knights Market and Grill
(edited by Jalen Wells)
College students live a busy and stressful lifestyle. They spend hours every day in classes, studying for classes, and working to pay off these classes. They barely have enough time to eat, much less cook themselves a meal. For this reason, Southwestern Adventist University has made more options available for their students. As part of the meal plan, there is a shop where students have the ability to buy not only snacks such as chips and sodas but meals like vegeburgers and macaroni and cheese.
For years this shop was known as The Rusty Bucket. The shop has now been revamped and renamed. We now have a name that portrays our school spirit. We have the Knights soccer team, the Knights volleyball team, the Knights basketball team, and now, the Knights Market and Grill.
Students will still have the ability and convenience to order a meal from the grill when in a hurry, whether in-between classes or work. There are several changes we expect to see as well, such as a smoothie bar, a grab and go section, and frozen entrees.
The smoothie bar will have boba options and will even have a window for the cafeteria. The grab-and-go area has sandwiches, fruit boxes, and yogurt parfaits. The frozen entrees are for student to heat up either at the market or in the comfort of their own room.
Apart from the changes of the market, there has also been changes to the cafeteria. There is now an alternative meal, according to your choice made by Chef Sualua Tupolo. The sodas have now been changed from the high glucose drinks to pure cane sugar drinks. The most welcome addition is the ice cream machine!
