The Journey’s Sharathon Scheduled for Next Week
Sharathon is a fundraising event held twice a year to support 88.3 The Journey and continue its operation. Listeners are allowed to come to the station during the week and can volunteer by answering phone calls from those who want to make pledges.
A few guest on-air personalities will be on the air live that week asking for support. The Journey’s financial goal is to reach $150,000 in pledges, which goes toward business, maintenance, and processing expenses.
In the past year, a new broadcast tower has been installed, which allows the station to be heard more clearly at greater distances. On average, 88.3 the Journey has roughly around 90,000 to 100,000 weekly listeners around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Mike Agee, the Journey’s general manager, Denae Songy, the morning host and program director, and Wanda Agee, the office manager, are the full-time employees who maintain the operation of the station. “What makes working at 88.3 The Journey so memorable, is having the ability to touch lives without even being aware of it,” says Wanda.
Sharathon will begin on Tuesday, March 27, and will last until Friday, March 30. The entire staff at 88.3 The Journey is asking for your prayers and support. If you have any questions regarding Sharathon, Wanda can be reached at 817-760-6821.
