Poetry Slam Slated for Sat. night

Southwestern Adventist University’s student creative writing club, The Rough Writers, is hosting its third annual Poetry Slam on campus this Saturday night. To be held in the student lounge on the first floor of Pechero Hall, the event gives students the opportunity to read their own poetry and short creative fiction to a receptive audience.

According to event rules, all materials must be less than three pages double spaced (1 1/2 pps. single spaced). Everything will be reviewed before it can be allowed up front.

This is the third time the Rough Writers have hosted such an event.

The Rough Writers will provide refreshments. The event will run from 7 to 11 p.m. and is free.

Wish I had attended one of these events in the four years that I went to SWAU. I just continue to read my poetry to myself... haha.
