Poetry Slam Set for Saturday Night

Southwestern Adventist University’s student creative writing club, The Rough Writers, is hosting its second annual Poetry Slam on campus this Saturday night. To be held in the student lounge on the first floor of Pechero Hall, the event gives students the opportunity to read their own poetry and short creative fiction to a receptive audience.

According to event rules, all materials must be less than three pages double spaced (1 1/2 pps. single spaced). Everything will be reviewed before it can be allowed up front.

This is the second time the Rough Writers have hosted such an event. In April, a Poetry Slam was held in Wharton Auditorium.

The Rough Writers will provide refreshments. The event will run from 7 to 9 p.m. and is free.
