Departmental Vespers Set for Tomorrow Night
Tomorrow night, each academic department at Southwestern Adventist University will conduct its own vespers, with students invited to attend any that they prefer. These are the departments and where their vespers are going to be held:
Psychology/education will meet in Dilts Chapel. There will be a dinner served in the study room of women’s residence hall, followed by worship given by Pastor Heaton, which will begin at 7 p.m.
The communication department will have vespers at Mike Agee’s house. Supper will be served at 5:45 p.m. At 7:15, they will go to the Cleburne Convention Center to hear the Joshua Experience Concert. This vespers is open to Communication majors, significant others and general education students.
English department vespers will be at the Gardners’ home 6-8:30 p.m. There will be soup, salad and dessert.
The nursing and biology vespers will meet at the Mabee Center. There will be refreshments first, followed by the worship service with Mrs. Ann Shaw as the speaker. Refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. and worship will start at 7. Everyone is invited, but especially nursing and biology students.
Religion department vespers will have two guest speakers: Pastors Harley Charles from Cleburne SDA Church and Jair Pinilla from Keene Spanish SDA Church. Vespers will be at 7 p.m. in Barron Chapel. Cookies and juice will be provided.
Everyone is invited to hear a testimony and eat pizza at the history and social science department vespers at the student lounge in Pechero. The topic will be: Can God make someone’s life meaningful and worthwhile, despite a past full of bad circumstances and poor choices?
The ESL department vespers will meet at 2000 FM 3048, Cleburne, TX 76031 for an international potluck and vespers. Students planning to attend will need to RSVP Monica Kowarsh and meet in the library parking lot at 6:15 p.m. If it’s possible, students are encouraged to bring a typical dish from your country to share with fellow classmates and others.
The Hopps Museum is where Southwestern’s business department vespers will meet at 6 p.m. And kinesiology will meet for vespers will meet at the Naukkarinens’ home at 6 p.m.
Finally, the math and physical science vespers will be held in the library. It begins at 5:30 p.m. and food will be served. Marcus Acosta will be the speaker. All chemistry and mathematics majors are invited.
