Dennis, Scarone Featured in Recital Tonight
“Many Faces of Romanticism” is a music recital featuring two of Southwestern Adventist University’s own music department pianists, Ana Scarone and Rudyard Dennis. The duo will perform tonight at 7 in the Wharton Auditorium.
Highlights of the night include a performance of one of the toughest piano accompaniment pieces ever composed, Weber’s “Grand Duo Concertant.” If you have studied piano, think parallel thirds along with other difficult technical points. Come and ponder over a possibly “stolen” song by a prominent composer. The piece has been misattributed for over 50 years, according to Dennis. Also, hear a composition from a major composer who was going crazy at the time he created the song.
Those interested in these compelling romantic era songs, and more, are invited to the recital tonight.
