Christmas Outreach to Take Place in Fort Worth
Students, faculty, staff, and friends of Southwestern have the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer this weekend at “Intersection” outreach. The group will visit homeless shelters, praying and handing out gifts, and then afterwards carol in Fort Worth. They meet on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:15 p.m. and leave at 2:30 p.m.
Outreach will start at the Presbyterian Night Shelter for the homeless. People who join the group will have the chance to pray with, and give gifts to the homeless. Later on, five to ten dollar toys from Southwestern’s spiritual development department will be taken to the Fort Worth women’s shelter. The day will end with caroling at the Sundance Square and at the bus station in Fort Worth.
Anyone who would like to be involved is invited. The spiritual development department is in need of drivers, singers, faculty, and staff supervisors to make sure the students remain safe. If you would like to be involved, contact Angie Boothby at boothbyad@swau.edu.
