Takoma, Sandia View Academies Take Home Championships

Takoma Academy Varsity Lady Tigers won the championship for Ladies’ Large School in this year’s Hoops Classic.
For Takoma Academy, the 19th annual Hoops Classic Jan. 22-24 ended very well considering all three of their teams won the championships in their divisions: Small School Women’s, Large School Women’s, and Large School Men’s.
In the Small School Women’s Division, the Takoma JV (Junior Varsity) Lady Tigers beat the South Texas Christian Academy Lady Panthers for the title. Last year the Takoma Varsity Lady Tigers won their division, making this year’s win the second championship they took home playing against the Spencerville Lady Hornets in the Large School Women’s Division.
Closing out the tournament were the Knights from Sandia View Academy, who managed to hold their own in a close game against North Dallas Adventist Academy for the Small School Men’s division championship title. And rounding out Takoma Academy’s victory, the Takoma Tigers beat the Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy Knights for the title.
