The Lighthouse Project Is On Saturday

The Lighthouse Project is a one-day, on-campus retreat intended to fill people with the light of Jesus.  It will be held in the Chan Shun Centennial library, Nov. 10 from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The meeting is for faculty and staff of Southwestern. Another meeting will take place in January for students. There is limited seating. Sign up sheets are at the Spiritual Development office until Friday.

Led by Jon Dybdahl, Old Testament scholar, former missionary and former president of Walla Walla College, the Lighthouse Project is a study of Psalms 139.

People who attend will have time to study the Bible alone, and then to study it with the group. The goal is to look at how God has led in the past, see how He is currently leading and pray about the future.

“I felt very blessed at the last meeting. It’s cool to have quiet time with scripture, and then be able to discuss it as well,” said Russ Laughlin, vice president of spiritual development and coordinator of the Lighthouse Project. “People get so busy, but this is a great way to spend time with God.”

Food will be provided and the cost is free.
