Write Spot To Open This Sunday
The Write Spot will officially open Sunday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Chan Shun Centennial Library classroom. It will be open 36 hours a week; here is a link to exact hours of operation: Write Spot Schedule– Fall, 2012
The Write Spot is a program created to help students improve their writing skills. Students can come for help with many different kinds of writing.
“It’s cool because students help students,” says Stephanie Rudisaile, Write Spot student worker. “People go there because they are motivated and because they want help with their writing. It’s definitely helped me as a writer because before I could have been a student going in for help. Now I know what to look for and can notice little things to improve writing.”
Through discussion and analysis of writing, the goal of the Write Spot is to create better writers, and therefore better grades, according to Susan Gardner, director of the Write Spot, quoted in a earlier article.
Write Spot tutors are either full-time faculty or students that have been extensively trained in a semester-long course. No appointment is necessary, although the Write Spot does run on a first-come first-serve basis.
This is the fourth year that the Write Spot has been available to students.
