Encore Art Exhibit to Show at Meadows Gallery
The artwork of Ann Hardy and Doug Clark will show at the Chan Shun Centennial Library from Feb. 9 to 23. This is the second time Clark has had an exhibit shown on campus. The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Doug Clark is a sculptor and painter who specializes in wildlife art. His goal is to “capture the essential qualities and personality of each animal” that he sculpts. Clark has been featured in many museums around the United States.
In Dallas, Clark teaches at the Fort Worth Independent School District, where he has taught for over 20 years. He also teaches at summer art workshops.
Ann Hardy’s paintings are also featured in several museums around the United States and in published in books. Her work displays a sense of nostalgia. Working from a 12 by 12 ft tree house, Hardy loves to be eccentric.
“Growth in life and art is the most exciting thing I can think of,” says Hardy. “You must be willing to risk, and to be at home in your own skin.”
Both of these artists will show at the Meadows Gallery in the Chan Shun Centennial Library. The gallery is open from 4 to 8 p.m.
