Showcase Concert Scheduled for Tonight

The Department of Music will present its Inaugural Showcase Concert featuring the seven auditioned Music Festival Scholarship Finalists tonight at 7:30 in Wharton Auditorium. Edwin Choque (cello), Leslie Castellanos (soprano), Iago Fernandes (guitar), Jean-Paul Fernandes (guitar), Halla Kalmansson (soprano), Elaine McDonald (soprano) and Eliann Reinhardt (violin) will all perform. You will hear selections from Bach, Webber, Mendelssohn, Bruch, Legrand, Schubert, Sor, Romberg, Gounod, Gilbert & Sullivan, Menken, Albeniz and Tárrega.

The finalists are juniors or seniors in high school.

Please come out and support these potential students. Although all are gifted in music, not all will be music majors. The faculty and students are invited to come and meet the performers and answer any questions they may have. There will be a reception following and a chance to socialize. With the snow ending around noontime, the performance will take place even if school is cancelled.

Seating is limited. No tickets required. Doors open at 7 p.m. Concert Begins at 7:30 p.m.
