Opinion: SWAU Should Open a 24-Hour Gym

With college getting harder and harder, more and more students have less time to do extracurricular activities. From studying for tests to writing research papers, a college student’s life is always busy.

Southwestern Adventist University has a great gym with treadmills and a nice weightlifting spot. It has a nice basketball court and very helpful and friendly staff who are easy to talk to. But some students don’t have the time to go and take advantage of this great gym available on this campus.

If they gym would close later or even be a 24-hour gym there would be more people that would be able to go to the gym and take advantage of these great facilities. In doing so, SWAU probably would become a very healthy campus. Then SWAU will be able to offer good workout programs that can be flexible with students’ schedules.

In addition, it would create more jobs for students who have a hectic schedule. A 24-hour gym would especially benefit those students who have a very tight schedule during the day. It would put more money in students’ pockets or help them pay for school and get out of debt quicker.

Personally I would benefit from having a 24-hour gym on campus. It would fit into my schedule perfectly. Since I work during the day and do homework or study in the afternoon, I could go to the gym at night and get a good workout in. And I know a lot of people would also benefit from a 24-hour gym on campus.

If Leiske-Pultar Gymnasium at Southwestern Adventist University turned into a 24-hour gym, it would be a great advantage. Not only would more people be able to get a good workout in, people from the community would be able to use it. And if they do use it, the gym would be able to make a good little profit.
