Gospel Concert Scheduled for Saturday Night

A gospel concert is planned for this weekend’s Saturday night event, Jan. 15 in Evans Hall at 7 p.m. This musical performance presents an opportunity for both Southwestern students and the community to enjoy a selection of Southern gospel music. The groups performing that evening will include Sarah Jilge, the Mystery Men Quartet and NorthStar Quartet.

The opening act, Sarah Jilge, is a young singer from Keene performs lead vocals for a three part Christian band called Four Times Forgotten. She is also a student at Chisholm Trail Academy. For pictures of the group and information you can visit their website.

The NorthStar Quartet

NorthStar Quartet, from the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist Church, are passionate about their music and pointing people to Jesus Christ. The members include, Sharan Boelter, Aaron Moses, Annette Bowyer and Jim Herr. For more information and sample of their music you can visit their website.

Finally, the main act is The Mystery Men Quartet are Ed Crawford, Joe Armstrong, Jym Howe and Chad Riley from Tennessee. They have been nominated for and received many awards including Grammy Awards, Diamond Awards and Dove Awards. They believe in spreading the gospel everywhere they go. All students as well as members of the community are invited to come enjoy this concert together. The concert is being sponsored by the SA with free admission for those with student ID.
