Education Receives Six-Year Accreditation from NAD
Southwestern’s Education Department received a six-year clear accreditation from the Education Department of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. The six-year clear accreditation is the maximum term that can be given for accreditation.
The members of the accreditation team were very impressed with the classes and faculty they observed, according to Marcel Sargeant, chair of the department. They noted that the faculty follows the high standards required for producing individuals who will be servants of God. Sargeant notes the significance of this: “From this accreditation, we can issue our certification of eligibility to the union office and from there, our graduates will be allowed to teach in Seventh-day Adventist schools.”
Southwestern’s education department is seen as top quality and making a difference in the lives of the students involved.
“Students graduating from our program can be assured that the degree that they’re obtaining from Southwestern’s Education Preparation program is in compliance with the Education Department of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists,” says Sargeant.
