More than 200 high schoolers are expected on campus for University Days beginning on Thursday.

Every year, many high schoolers from around the country come to the Southwestern campus to experience what life is like if they were to attend SWAU. This year is no different. This week, beginning Thursday, University Days is scheduled for the Southwestern campus.

Visiting students will share in plenty of activities as they come to spend the weekend with the Southwestern family. Thursday night, an Academic Showcase is scheduled for the gym.  Academic departments of Southwestern will put their best foot forward with individual displays and the visiting students will be able to see the variety of courses SWAU offers. Later the students can either head to Wharton Auditorium for a music recital or play in the gym. Visiting students will stay in dorm room with the university students, giving them the chance to experience dorm life. On Friday they’ll see what college classes are like. Students will have the opportunity to sit in two interactive classes, which are coordinated by the professors and university students. A campus tour is also planned, along with some financial aid information, to make the overwhelming idea of college a little more manageable.  They’ll be able to share in the spiritual activities offered and social activities as well.

The goal for this event is to encourage visiting students to come to SWAU next year. “We want to connect these students to the campus,” Tina Bottsford says. “We want to enable them to see how Southwestern Adventist University is a great fit for them.”
