Elevate Hosts Game Night at Keene SDA Church

(Edited by Keysha M. Ortiz Ramos and Jordan Greene)

Elevate hosted a game night on Saturday, Sept. 24. Elevate is a ministry that Keene Church provides for the young adults in its congregation, as well as the college students that attend Southwestern Adventist University. Elevate decided to host a game night to reach out to their current attendees, with the hope of inviting more people to come join. They put together a number of games including Scrabble, Uno, Mafia, and Life. Nachos, cookies, and drinks were provided as refreshment. Prizes were awarded and a photo booth was available for pictures.

To start off the evening, everyone gathered in the fellowship hall for a large game of musical chairs. They had planned for 50 people, but more people came. After the game, people could then head down into the gathering place to play the different board games that were being offered, as well as the food, photo booth and prizes.

As the night carried on, people really seemed to enjoy themselves. Mafia was a huge hit and the game lasted all night! It was a full house all the way until closing time. There was no food left, and the prizes were announced and given to the winners.

Overall, it was a fun time. It was a lot of planning and preparation, but in the end it was worth it. Elevate is planning similar events soon and hopes that they are as successful as game night.
