Student Week of Prayer Begins Monday

praying_sliderSpring semester’s Student Week of Prayer is slated for next week, and will feature students from Southwestern’s Homiletics class speaking on the theme Engage, It’s Time. Each service will feature two speakers.

Week of Prayer services will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday, Week of Prayer will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday will also feature an evening service which will begin at 7 pm. Week of Prayer will conclude on Sabbath morning at 10:15 am.

Monday’s first speaker is Nahum Mendez, who will elaborate on “In the Beginning God Created.” The second speaker on Monday is Stephen Gamallo, who will present “Holiday or Holy Day?”

On Tuesday, Oddie Olazaran will speak on “Tired of Trying.” He will be followed by Kevin Draper, whose message is titled “The Cure.”

Wednesday will feature Michael Cerda speaking on “Do You Believe This?” Abel Mims will speak at Wednesday’s afternoon service by presenting “Why Engage in Christian Behavior?”

Wednesday will also feature speakers during its 7 p.m. service in the Keene Chapel. Alicia Lopez will begin by speaking on “The Point of No Return.” Edgar Infante will follow, with the topic “Deaf by Choice.”

Isai Ramirez will start Thursday’s service by speaking on “Going for the Gold.” Carl Goff will present “God Cares What You Wear” at Thursday’s service.

On Friday, Jordan Greene will begin by presenting “…For Such a Time as This.” Godwin Song will follow by speaking on “Time’s Up.”

Friday during Vespers, Noe Perez will be presenting “Ready or Not, He Will Come.” Sabbath will feature Wilfredo Vanegas speaking on the message titled “Stronger Than a Lightsaber.”

All services will be held at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church, except Thursday’s service, which will be held at Evans Hall. Service on Sabbath morning will be held during Elevate at the Keene SDA Church Fellowship Hall.
