Students Are Excited About New IHOP
With the news of an International House of Pancakes being built in Cleburne, Southwestern Adventist University students are getting ready to enjoy the 24-hour diner.
“Having an IHOP close by is really exciting,” says Christian Santizo, senior accounting major. “First their pancakes are really good and having them close by is great. IHOP is much better than Denny’s and most importantly it’s my favorite American restaurant for breakfast.”
Students generally have a busy schedule, and some even skip eating lunch or dinner. An IHOP 10 minutes away from campus will really help.
“Students will take advantage of the 24-hour IHOP,” says Kevin Gonzales, history major. “Especially if they like to pull off all-nighters and stay awake. They might go in a grab a cup of coffee and keep on studying. Also the distance is pretty good so they would won’t have to spend too much on gas.”
People always like a variety of restaurants to choose from and when the closest city to Southwestern is getting a new restaurant, that makes things that much better.
“It gives me another place to eat,” says Arturo Quintero, senior theology major. “It’s good that we are getting more variety from Cleburne and the fact that its open 24 hours will really help me if I don’t have time to eat during the day.”
Sadly, not all students will be able to take advantage of the 24 hours that IHOP is open.
“Curfew will have an effect on students enjoying IHOP,” said Kevin Gonzales. “Students under 21 even if they have a car won’t be able to go to IHOP late at night. So I really makes no difference if it is open all night long.”
Located on 174 across from Home Depot and Albertson’s, the new IHOP will have its grand opening Thanksgiving Day. It would not be surprising if lots of their customers are Southwestern students trying to get a bite to eat late at night.
