Major Gift Benefits Biology Department
Southwestern’s new president, Dr. Ken Shaw, announced this week that the University is the recipient of a $500,000 gift.
The gift comes from an anonymous donor of the University and will provide the Biology Department with an additional full-time faculty member for the next four years. The remaining part of the gift will support equipment needs in the areas of mathematics and science.
“I am so appreciative of this gift. It will enhance our academics in a substantial way. It was a joy to share this exciting news with our faculty and staff earlier this week,” says Shaw. “The biology faculty are thrilled about this new opportunity for their department and for their students. We are so thankful for friends and alumni that support our great university!”
