Weekend Spiritual Events Announced
Spiritual weekend events include vespers, afterglow, Sabbath school, church, outreach, Contagious Faith concert, and evensong.
Starting out at the Keene SDA Church, vespers will begin at 8 p.m. Speakers for this week’s vespers are from Southwestern’s SLAD (Spiritual Life & Development) team: Hannah Marchok and SA Ministry Vice President Austen Powell.
Afterglow will follow in Wharton Auditorium. This week’s afterglow is hosted by the Women’s club.
Sabbath morning, fellowship and refreshments will be at 10 a.m. in Evans Hall. Sabbath school starts at 10:30 with Dr. Glen Robinson, professor of communication, leading the Bible study and discussion.
There are two church services at the Keene SDA Church; one at 9 a.m. and the other at 11:30 a.m. Both will be led by the new head pastor, Jennifer Scott.
The Sabbath afternoon outreach will begin at 3 p.m. on the library steps. Students will get to pass flowers around in Keene.
At 7 p.m., two events will be taking place in two different places. One is Evensong where the Southwestern Singers, led by Jonathan Wall, will be performing. The other is in the Wharton Auditorium where Contagious Faith will be presenting a Beyond the Lyrics concert; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
