Kickball Season–and Intramurals–Start Tonight

The time has come for intramurals to begin.  Kickball starts the intramural season off tonight.  This is the first year kickball has been an intramural sport.  The first game tonight is at 8:45 between the teams The Geek Factor and Just For Kicks.

When asked about why kickball was chosen, James The, vice president for student services said, “I wanted to do something different other than traditional team sports.”  He also said that he wanted people to play than just sit on the sidelines and watch the game.

For those not familiar with kickball, it is similar in the game play to baseball.  You have four bases you have to run, and the field of play looks the same, with the kickball field being smaller.

A difference between kickball and baseball is the ball.  In kickball you kick a rolling dodgeball into the field.  A favorite feature of kickball for many people is the ability to throw the ball at someone who is running to the next base.
