University Sabbath Planned; Convocation to Air Live
Tonight’s Convocation Service at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church will be available live via the Internet for those who want to follow it. The annual Southwestern Adventist University Convocation features a pageant of medieval academic gowns worn by faculty, great music by University singers and instrumentalists, and guest speaker Louis Marcos.
A speaker, author, noted C. S. Lewis scholar and professor at Houston Baptist University, Markos’ topic for Convocation will be “Defending the Faith: Learning to Be an
Apologist,” where he will use C. S. Lewis as an example of a Christian apologist who “made it possible to be an intellectually fulfilled Christian while still living in a modern, post-Enlightenment world.” His talk will encourage students to offer a logical defense for their faith. The Convocation begins at 8 p.m. and can be accessed live here.
Tomorrow the monthly university church service will be offered at Evans Hall beginning at 11:30. Speaker for the service will be Pastor Keith Gray, special assistant to the president at Southwestern.
