
University Singers Wrap Up Year With Showcase Concert

The University Singers, Southwestern’s touring choir, have had a busy year. To bring the year to a close, on Saturday, May 5, they will perform their second-annual Showcase Concert. It will take place at the Chan Shun Centennial Library at 8 p.m. Admission is free. New Writing Emphasis Available for Students

Southwestern Adventist University’s Department of English now offers a writing emphasis as an option for the English major. English majors now can choose to focus on either literature or writing and the emphasis offers several new courses designed to enrich the current program. Learning names of muscles found in the human body may seem like a tiresome job. Several anatomy and physiology students at Southwestern have found a way that makes learning more interesting. Dr. Amy McHenry, assistant professor of biology, assigned an extra credit project to her students. They had to find a creative way to memorize muscles, and then present their project to the class.
