Socks with sandals? Heresy!

Many people around campus, even some of my closest friends, commit what I consider a moral injustice. I must come forward and testify to those ignorant to these crimes committed, and to those who feign ignorance. These people offend by either trying to be unique or by acting apathetic. Nonetheless, it offends me that some wear their sandals with socks.

I hear arguments like, "It is comfortable," or "it’s cold." Flip flops by themselves are rather comfortable by themselves. I don’t need to wear socks to be comfortable in sandals. I find it more comfortable to wear flip flops without socks. I cannot see how wearing socks with sandals could be more comfortable than wearing sandals alone.

The other day my good friend and roommate, bless his heart, was wearing some flip flops with socks on. It was the night it was raining cats and dogs. As he was running, he stepped into puddles of water, and got his socks wet. It sounds redundant, but if he wasn’t wearing socks, he would have only gotten his feet wet. And since he was wearing flip flops, his feet would be dryer than if he was wearing shoes, not to mention wearing socks.

Now, if it is cold, don’t wear sandals! Don’t be lazy and spend an extra few seconds putting on some shoes with your socks! It is cold, for crying out loud. I don’t wear sandals when it’s cold. I wish some people would have some more common sense.

There are many fashions out there today. Perhaps some just think it to be normal to wear socks with sandals. Others do not even care that they do so. This is frightening proof of the decadence of mankind. Because of this decadence, I believe we are living in the end times. What is worse is that not only are our young people doing this but also people of older generations. Southwestern Adventist University has a reputation to keep, but our students and even our staff are guilty of this aesthetic abomination. Therefore, we must make sacrifices and efforts to not live in such squalor. We must conquer our temptations to sloth. When we ask for God’s help, we are sure to overcome temptation.

Any argument in favor of the wearing of socks with sandals, an evil amalgamation, cannot be valid or persuasive. This evil amalgamation goes against the presupposed laws of morality and sense. This must mean that if one is convinced that wearing socks with sandals is by any means acceptable, there is an evil force at work that goes against the laws of nature. I feel it my responsibility to the community and my responsibility as a Christian to create awareness of undercover sins being committed at this institution.

I have walked the sidewalks of this university for two years. No more can I keep quiet. Those who have pretended to not know of their moral injustice, please have some moral sensitivity to those around you who are sheltered and susceptible to the temptations of the enemy. Those who are ignorant to these vile doings please take heed and take countermeasures against Satan’s darts.

People of Southwestern Adventist University, let us not give reason for others to doubt our spirituality. Let us not give in to the temptation of combining socks with sandals.

While I agree that socks and flip flops do not go together I must point out that there is a difference between flip flops and sandals and I know of people who have excessively sweaty feet and can not wear their sandals without socks. Would you deny them the right to wear sandals at all?
big deal

Whats the big deal, so what if some kids want to wear sandals over flip flops, and what if some want to wear socks? BIG DEAL, there is nothing moral or inmoral about wearing or not wearing socks. God made each person capable of making their own decisions in life and i am sure that if this was an issue of proper morals according to modern humanity, there would be alot more people raising cane about it. Dude, don't waste your time over such nonsense, its not their life that you are living!
