While the Southwestern club sports program is not part of any league or conference, the club sports teams compete independently against other intercollegiate league and conference teams. The basketball program is about two years old. The soccer and volleyball programs are new this year.

SWAU intramurals make sports available to all

-
Intramural teams are being organized for the new semester. Look for sign up sheets.
Southwestern’s fall intramural season wrapped up just before finals with the volleyball playoffs. The intramural program makes team sports available to all students who are interested in playing. The school offers six different types of intramural sports, three in the fall and three in the spring. Just before each season, sign-up sheets are hung up around school so that students can sign up. Everyone who signs up is randomly appointed to teams. "They draft more people than they need so if some don’t show up, they still have enough for a team," says Jason Knight, a senior marketing major. "But everyone who signs up gets a chance to play."
