Called by God

A sophomore nursing major at Southwestern, Choque also considers much an important part of his life.

Peter Choque, sophomore nursing major, felt called from God to come to Southwestern and he’s glad he answered. Students Lead Out in Week of Prayer

Southwestern students are leading out with Spring Week of Prayer this week on campus. Theme for this week is “Breaking the Cycle.” Students will touch on subjects such as pride, conflict, rushing to evil, lying, false witnessing, and wicked schemes. Meetings will take place at the Keene SDA Church, with Austin Powell (Monday), Hanna Marchok (Tuesday), Robert Leslie (Wednesday), Jenae Phipps (Thursday) and Arvy Wuysang (Friday) serving as speakers. Tax Seminar Set for International Students

Mimosa Set for Sunday, March 9

Mimosa is set for 6 p.m. on March 9 at Hilton Fort Worth, 815 Main St. in Fort Worth. Theme for this year’s Mimosa is Welcome to the Roaring 20’s. Regular price is $30 per person, but there is also a couples’ discount price of $50 per two. Students can get a $10 refund for riding the bus to and from the location of Mimosa. Daniel R. Jackson, president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, will speak for Southwestern’s Friday Night Worship service this Friday. He will also be the guest speaker for the services held at the Keene SDA Church on Feb. 8. Takoma, Sandia View Academies Take Home Championships

Takoma Academy Varsity Lady Tigers won the championship for Ladies' Large School in this year's Hoops Classic

  For Takoma Academy, the 19th annual Hoops Classic Jan. 22-24 ended very well considering all three of their teams won the championships in their divisions: Small School Women’s, Large School Women’s, and Large School Men’s. In the Small School Women’s Division, the Takoma JV (Junior Varsity) Lady Tigers beat the South Texas Christian Academy Lady Panthers for the title.
